What is about to transpire now is in other words not something that has ever happened before in the history of the universe. Maybe this impending, partially unknown, causes the widespread denial that I feel dominate many people at the current moment. Rather than facing a tremendous change in our socioeconomic relationships (since any change in human consciousness also implies a change in our relationships) many prefer to fantasize about some physical or astronomical event, that purportedly is going to happen on some specific date. In reality the Mayan calendar is however not about something that will happen on a singular date, but a description of a divine plan for the evolution of consciousness where quantum shifts between calendrical energies bring about shifts in consciousness. Human consciousness will continue to be transformed step by step in accordance with this plan until we come to the real end date of the process of creation, October 28, 2011. At this date the highest quantum state of the universe will be attained (13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13.13 13 Ahau) when the shifts disrupting the harmony will come to an end. Obviously, we are not there yet.

Carlos" was the name of a 2,000-year-old spirit allegedly channeled by José Alvarez when he toured Australia in 1988. Channeling was all the rage in Australia and an Australian television program contacted James Randi about finding someone who might show Australians that channeling was something doubtful. Randi approached Alvarez, a performance artist and friend who had long toyed with the idea of creating such a character. The rest, as they say, is history. Alvarez
looked at videotapes of other people speaking in strange voices, pretending to be in touch with other worlds, and he picked it up right away. Eventually he went to Australia, took the performance into the Sydney Opera House before a rapt audience there, all handling crystals and beads and whatnot, and with charmed looks on their faces, attracted and enthralled by this man onstage, José Alvarez, doing the Spirit of Carlos that was claimed to be 2,000 years old. His performance was very convincing, and actually better than the "real" chanellers!

Methinks the name "Carlos" wasn't around 2000 years ago... (Spanish, as a result of the intersection of Latin, Arabic, and who knows what else (some Celtic variants, perhaps, as happened in French - e.g., all those "-ac" endings come from Celtic place names in old Gaul) is a more recent phenomenon.) Which just underlines the vast depths of credulity involved here. No doubt José was quite aware of that inconvenient and amusing fact. Must've been fun! -

this was at the time when there were many channelers going around and when someone claimed to channel a 5000 year old entity,,some guy came in and claimed to be a 20,000 year old entity,,,and it wasn't even halloween yet,,,
anyway,,,i have already made dinner reservations for 2013,,,,

The stupidity of others is a very valuable thing. You can mock them and they will give you their money. If you are really good at mocking them they actually THANK you for mocking them and give you even more money! How cool is that?
The only problem with this level of stupidity is it seems to disrupt natural selection. It sure seems like they are being rewarded for their stupidity by continued existence. Or maybe it's like an infection that hasn't yet killed it's host?
